Help with wait() method in greenfoot!!
By Venbha, with 4 replies.
Last reply by danpost, over 8 years ago:
The 'wait' methods of the Object class are thread operations which are not intended to be used with greenfoot. Greenfoot provides the act method, which can be used to control when an object does anything (which is the same as when it is not to do something, or anything)..

Not sure why pacman ends in a wall, but the error message happens in the Level class, so you have to show this class.

Sounds like you could use something like a bar type object (similar to a health bar in appearance). Only, this bar will either increase or decrease with time and the ability will be reusable when the time has expired. You can check out my

timer for a game

Last reply by Super_Hippo, over 8 years ago:
Nothing, you only need to add a Timer object into the world. Well, you need Greenfoot version 3.1.0 or you need to import the java.awt Color and Font classes.

Score Counter
By Venbha, with 5 replies.
Last reply by Super_Hippo, over 8 years ago:
This doesn't really matter. You made a addScore method (you posted it above). If you just want to add one score point every act cycle, you can call the addScore method from the Counter's act method. If not, you need to access the counter object and call the addScore method on that object whenever you want to add points.
mouseclicked

Last reply by danpost, over 8 years ago:
The method name is 'mouseClicked' (with a uppercase 'C'); and the documentation says it requires a parameter -- an instance of some Object type (typically a World or Actor object, or 'null', where any click will return a 'true' value): <Code Omitted> You could even have references to, let us say, Button objects in your World subclass: <Code Omitted>and have the act method in that same world c
