All problems are gone, the one that is published now is working fine and the sprites come from Sprites The problem wasn't even directly in the code I gave, it was some code that acted up in another acter when this one tried to spawn it in

From what I can tell, your TextBoxField class appears to accept keystrokes normally. However, I do not have the Text class to test it with; nor, the scenario as a whole. In other words, I tested the class to the limits of what was given and the only thing I found as a potential issue is that the 'enter' key does not take focus off the field (I am not saying that it should do more than it does; just that it does not behave in the manner that I would have expected).

Welleid can you tell me where did you get the other solution from because I don't understand what they're talking about and btw im a noob at computing and sorry if my english is bad im from japan.

Can you show us your code please?

public void fall() { setLocation ( getX(), getY() + vSpeed); vSpeed = vSpeed + acceleration; }

ah i see, i know my fault now. thank you very much danpost!

<Code Omitted>

gifs don't work when the scenario is uploaded to the greenfoot website, rather create the animation frames as separate images then use folders to organise the sprites and use this class:

I can say that there is an over-abundance of fields in your classes. Plus, there is an excessive use of 'static' fields (some of which are not properly maintained). I see that you intend to eventually implement scrolling, which will be quite a feat -- trying to maintain proper values for some of the fields. You should start simple. Work on one thing at a time (starting with the basic necessities of the project). Complete one phase before moving onto the next. Build the project in a way that would seem logical. First, the basic world; then, the main actors -- start with the walls, then

As far as the yellow car always winning -- I think you need to show a bit more of the code for the car classes. If each car first moved and then checked for collision, then you should not have that specific problem. As far as a trail -- do not think of them as following the cars, but being left behind by the cars. If the car places a trail object at its new location after each move, then as the cars continue to move, they will be left behind leaving "a trail to follow the cars".

It would be better to have all the code in the methods shown in one method as they all deal with vertical movement. Also, since gravity is ALWAYS in effect, it would be better to apply gravity and move vertically unconditionally. By doing so, the following ground check can determine the on-ground state for the future jump check. Something like this:

We have succeed thanks !
