Code for changing levels? Help?

Last reply by danpost, over 11 years ago:
You could make your level worlds subclasses of my Level class (a support superclass that facilitates many aspects of a level changing scenario). It is in my
Super Level Support Class
scenario. It is well documented and will let you know what can be changed and what cannot; as well as what is needed in each of your level worlds (subclasses of Level). Look over the classes within my scenario to get an idea of what is going on. I tried to keep things to a minimum so as not to overcomplicate things as it is being looked over. You will notice
how to scroll

Replied to by danpost, over 11 years ago:
My
Bee Quick (ImgScroll Demo)
scenario has an ImgScroll class that is used to keep the boy in the middle of the screen while allowing scrolling to the limits of the background image. You can add the class (un-modified) into your project and easily use it. If you look at the Welt class, you will see 5 lines of interest. Lines 18 and 19 declare fields that hold the scrolling engine (scroller) and the main character (boy). Line 32 creates the ImgScroll object and line 38 creates the Boy object and adds it into the world. Both are assigned t
getOneIntersectingObject problem
By zkiwi, with 2 replies.
Last reply by danpost, over 11 years ago:
Your issue was due to excessive transparencies in your Red_laser image. The method was picking up one of more than one intersectors (the one that did not sing a bad note); so, the one that was supposed to be removed was passed up. After removing the excess transparency from its image, it seemed to be having no problems with detecting and removing the bad note singer.

Problem with "getObjectsInRange"
By xWanna, with 19 replies.
Last reply by xWanna, over 11 years ago:
Oh -- I see the problem now. It is at line 13 in your door class (your first code post in this discussion thread). 'getObjectsInRange' will never return a null value. You need to check to see if the List object that is returned is empty or not. ? 1 if ( !getObjectsInRange(40, Charakter1.class).isEmpty() && ...
Oh, thanks man. It's working now. :D

How can I make the World use a variable from an Actor?
By therealMV, with 1 reply.
Replied to by danpost, over 11 years ago:
Maybe you should add a setter method in the world class to set the value of the room variable: <Code Omitted>Then, in your Joe1 class, you can (instead of 'room = 1.4', for example) use: <Code Omitted> Using just 'room = 1.4;' you are only changing the local variable in the method, not the value of the field in the 'fearmine' class.

Oh I think I misunderstood - Greenfoot.getKey() can be null thus calling compareTo on it would cause an exception.
