How do you switch between world to view & setup instances (Actors)?
By alwanammar, with 3 replies.
Last reply by danpost, over 11 years ago:
You should see a bunch of 'new <classname>()' occurrences in the 'prepare' method of your first world class code. You should familiarize yourself with the code that is produced when you "save the world". Any time you use the 'new' keyword, you will be creating a new instance, or object, of the 'classname' type specified. When you compile or reset your project, a new instance of your initial world class is created automatically. When you create a new world manually (like you did to show your second world), you are making it the default initial world. You will have to manually create an i

Wow, no clue why I wrote in german there .... o_O Corrected it and thanks again haha Is it btw possible to just change the direction the fireball is flying in? At the moment I use the setLocation method to move the fireball down-right. So I guess that a rotation is only possible with move() ? Would be probably better if the fireball can bounce from every wall and not just from the bottom one (ground) I guess? Thanks!

Moving right past a point, then moving left and stopping at the point?
By shooterbooth, with 1 reply.
Replied to by danpost, over 11 years ago:
I was going to suggest adding a direction field to the class, setting its value to 1 for right, -1 for left, and zero for stopped; using it as a multiplier to the speed value (2). However, this is actually not needed because you are moving the title at the speed of 2. If you place your title into the world at an even X coordinate location, then it will maintain an even X coordinate location until it reaches the right edge of the world (the title can never be at an X coordinate value of 460 as 459 is the last X coordinate value that can be reached). This even/odd change can be used to determ
Making Objects Move Relative to Their Original Locations

If the slider is not to move at all, then you could add the following to the Slider class to prevent any movement: <Code Omitted>This will hide the implementation of those methods provided by the Actor class for the Slider objects. That is not to say that you can no longer use those implementations at all. It is still possible to access the Actor class methods from within the class by prefixing the calls with 'super.'.
