Speech to Text
By akilino, with no replies.
I'm working on a project, and was wondering if it is possible to make the user to say something (record his voice), send the audio to a tool that converts the speech into text (Dragon, from Nuance, or even Google Now), and retrieve the text from it.

I see. Try checking the debug log (see the technical support link I gave you above). It might contain a hint as to what's happening.

Whats wrong with my constructor?

Ok, there are many things which aren't done as they should: An arrow should not extend the archer. The archer shoots the arrow, but the arrow isn't an archer. Don't create arrows from the arrow class. Let the archer shoot the arrows. You have an infinite loop here. I don't know what it should do, but this won't be correct! <Code Omitted> Not sure, but I think you misunderstood how Greenfoot is working. The act methods are executed in every object in the act

The 'ball' and 'arrow' fields are given to the new object and assigned their values during the creation of the Cpu object. This happens before the object is added into any world. Therefore, using 'getWorld' in their value assignments must return a 'null' value. You cannot assign those values using 'getWorld' until the object is added into the world.
Thank you so much!

You need to replace the phrase with what you actually wish to have output. You can initialize an int variable to count the number of correct responses before the loop and increment it within the loop when a correct response is found:

The other is that all three of the method calls to 'killSlime', 'killOktopus' and 'killSkeleton' are casting the world returned by 'getWorld' to different types without regard to which type it may be.
I'm guessing that each of those world types holds only the one type of object (Slime, Oktopus or Skeleton) so this is not actually a problem - because the cast of the world is only done once a collision with an object of the appropriate type had been detected. I.e. if getOneIntersectingObject(Slime.class) returns non-null, then the world must be an instance of Grass.

A game within a game?
By Ariadia, with 3 replies.

Create a subclass of World and call it MiniGame. Code your minigame as if it was your project (ignoring anything outside the minigame). As far as making is show when the player lands on a certain square, you will need to supply the relevant code (main world class code from first line down to at least the constructor (or prepare method) and the player class).
