Thanks a ton!

Show what you tried. Like the code in the counter class and all the code which is relevant for the counter.

If you want a shorter version: <Code Omitted>

If you would rather use 'move' instead of 'setLocation', you will need to incorporate an int field in the class to hold the current direction of the actor; <Code Omitted>Then, the basic format of your act method would be as follows: <Code Omitted>This will only have your actor "rotated" behind the scenes. It will always be shown upright.

You need an Actor subclass to display the images (lives). It can have an int field to hold the current number of lives remaining and that field can be used to 'draw' that many icon images onto the image of the actor. Do not use the act method to keep the image of the actor updated; it only needs to be re-drawn when its value is initially set and when its value is changed. Add the needed methods that other classes can use to 'get' and 'set' its value. Do what you can. If you run into difficulties, then post the current code and ask for help on the specific issue at hand.

I think your teacher means that it needs to one class. Let's say the object which is falling down is a Block. In your world subclass: <Code Omitted> In the Block class:

thanks i used else if in the act()

Spot the difference! Working: <Code Omitted> Not working: <Code Omitted>

Well, so it is not "where" that is to be random. So, that leaves "what" or "when". Which is it? and what have you tried? (read the 'Posting code? read this!' link below the reply box before posting code).

I do not see how any movement could come from this. Either this is not your exact class code or it would not compile. There are syntax errors, exceptions, and no act method as shown.

The execution of the issue code depends on the 'getRightOrWrong' method of the question class. Please post that class code.

thanks Dan. And, I have some other good news for myself. It looks very favorable that my little high school is going to re-instate my computer programming class. So, I will definitely be around with more questions as I keep learning this thing. have a great day mark.

In line 29, you are using 'fireWorld' as if it was a previously defined variable -- which is is not (not in the method, the class, or any class this class extends). If you are trying to set the 'volcano' variable to the world object on that line, then it is too late as you just remove the actor from the world. Any way of getting a reference to the world has been eliminated. If you switch lines 28 and 29, you can get the reference before you remove the actor from the world; however, using 'fireWorld' will still fail -- use 'getWorld()' instead. There is another issue with the 'aangGone' m
