To upload it here, click on 'Export' in the top right corner in Greenfoot. For the start, you could import the Counter class.
Please help. I am having trouble making an object transparent

@aromero2, the code you gave may work; however, be aware that using 'delay' to animate something will cause the rest of the scenario to freeze during the animation. With your code, the freezing will occur during each blink cycle which would make everything else appear to slow down instead of freeze (continuous series of short-time freezing). I guess what I am trying to say is that the 'delay' will be applied to everything within the scenario; not just the object that animates.

Also, you should check that the scenario you have open is really the right one. If you look at the "open recent" submenu of the Scenario menu, what file path is shown at the top?

What does the null stand for?
null means "no object"
Why doesn't the Spaceship get destroyed?
Because you check if the return from getObjectsInRange() is null, but it will never be null - getObjectsInRange() does not return null, it always returns a list object. (The list object
may
represent an empty list).
How can I do it, that if the centre of the Spaceship and the centre of a ball come together within the range of 80, that the spaceship gets destroyed?
Using getObjectsInRange() is a good start, but you should not compare it

However, now I am getting an error saying that the getMovement variable isn't right.
I find it hard to believe that the error message is really "getMovement variable isn't right". What is the error
really
saying? By not telling us the actual error message, you're making it hard for us to tell what is actually wrong.

@RyanOseris, please do not revive old discussion threads. Rather, start a new one. At any rate 'object' was assigned a value prior to the code given -- probably by way of using the 'getOneIntersectingObject' method: <Code Omitted>

Loops...

Now:
You don't use the image variables (which are now called 'smiley1' and 'smiley3') at all.
You use 'image1' to decide which image to set. It is set to false initially, and is never changed to true, so the same image ("smiley3") will always be set. (Think about when it should be changed to true, and when it should be changed back to false).
There is still no delay in the loop, so even if it did alternate images you would not be able to see this happening.

As far as the 'NUMBER_IMAGES' variable, you probably meant to use 'IMAGE_COUNT'. As far as the 'Could not find file' error, make sure that you have the name of the file correct -- case must match for all characters of both the name and the suffix of the filename.

Ha. Never mind. Solved it. Some of the old tricks are coming back to me. I changed all the additional "if" statements to "else if" statements, and now it works like a charm. Thank you for the help danpost. I'm sure my code is still sloppy, but at this point I'm just happy that it's working.
