cool, I was thinking we could do the maniac challenge like a ludum dare challenge where a theme will be chosen and you have to create a game using that theme

A ludum dare-esque challenge would be awesome. See what people can do in a set amount of time and all that :)

We could start a poll at the beginning of the month and after 2 weeks put the challenge up then after 4 days close the challenge

Sorry, didn't see that.... but I still don't believe that open source would help considering that someone could easily hide the code...

They can change the code mildly, remove comments, separate the code, and make it over all unrecognizable
