About Me

I teach 5th grade in a public school. My room is a technology-based, open classroom and focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Also incorporated into the classroom learning experience is music and art. I introduce students to composers of a specific period. I teach music theory and how to write codes to run melodic phrases and entire songs in pencilcode.net. Additionally, the students learn about artists from specific periods, their style, their medium and how to recreate the art. My students code every day either on code.org, Khan Academy, Scratch, or Pencilcode. I am a classically trained pianist and violinist. I do Crossfit, run 5 and 10ks, skateboard, and mountain bike. I am married to an 8th grade English teacher and a father of two children ages 4 and 7.
