Wall Collision

It is no wonder that it does not compile. 'Wall.class == null' (regardless of the fact, that it will always be 'false') returns a boolean value. However, the 'canSee' method requires a Class object for its parameter. For example: <Code Omitted>would compile and will execute its block of code if a Wall object intersects the actor. If the actor is to remain off of any Wall objects, then you will have to move before checking the state again (move, check and, if on a wall, move back).

Is it possible for one actor to move another actor using setLocation method?

Simple user input

I have noticed several posts asking for some simple way of getting user input. I have seen lots of good examples too. If you are looking for something very basic Greenfoot offers the following: Greenfoot.ask(String). This will display a prompt at the bottom of the world with the specified prompt and will return a String. (see also: https://www.greenfoot.org/files/javadoc/greenfoot/Greenfoot.html)

Oh :( I guess that would be a problem then. Since I am not running the newer version of greenfoot, there will not be a newer version of the scenario. Sorry. Maybe I can upload it with a pre-created application file that will run outside of greenfoot. I might have to do that.

I am not sure how "setLocation(getX(), getY()+"something")" does not work for you. To make danpost's scenario work: Class Stats: Line 118 Class Space Lines 50, 71 and 78 In these lines, change the 'null' to 'new Color(0,0,0,0)' (or wait for the next Greenfoot version). @danpost: To make your scenarios easier to use with the newer versions, it would be good if you could name all color names in uppercase letters and instead of using 'java.awt.Color...', import it at the beginning. Then it should work without changing everything manually.

Line 10 creates a new Tile but doesn't add it to the world. It shouldn't add any tile to the world, only the "tetromino" (subclass) which shouldn't have an image. You don't need to create a new class for every configuration because as you see, it is just calling the constructor in the super class but is not doing anything different as the other ones.

Same thing -- replace 'Font.BOLD' with 'true, false'.

I do not think so -- I do not see where the user is removing itself from the world.

It is there. Select the field under where you see int length is 10 and inspect that. You should get the player and see its x and y coordinates in the world.

Just says null.

the int length is 10

No matter. That is just the initial number of elements the list is created to hold (before any objects are added to the list).
