I opened greenfoot, went to scenario, clicked on new, clicked on wombat and clicked create. Then I got an error message saying: The project could not be created. Check that the containing folder is writable. Any ideas??

Wombat is an existing scenario - if you want to open it, click "scenario"/"open...", not "scenario"/"new...".

Perhaps you already have it open? What exactly do you have on the screen?

Nothing the screen is blank. There is nothing under the world or actor classes. Could it be an instillation issue?

Are you using the latest version of Greenfoot (2.2.1)? (if not, you should upgrade) Find the debug log and send it in. See http://www.greenfoot.org/support - send your email the address there, along with all the requested information.

Maybe we should look on your error message. Do you have write rights on the folder you installed greenfoot?

on windows 7, right click in the folder, security, your name, then check the table.

You are not supposed to need write permission on the folder to which you've installed Greenfoot. It will prompt to save the example scenarios in another location if it cannot write to them.

I had this error in my school because I only have hard limited write rights. When I changed the location where I want to create a project it worked

erdelf, please read the complete discussion. We're talking about opening an existing scenario (the Wombats scenario), not creating a new one.

On the pcs at my school it doesn't matter if you create one or open one; when you don't have write rights in the containing folder you are not be able to open or create one. I can only help with my situations on my pc at school, because at home I have full rights.
