I think without backround, eg a circle without the rectangle of the image.
All images are rectangular. However, there can be transparent parts that "cut" corners (if that is what you mean).
You can download and use my Image Transparency Adder/Trimmer scenario to "cut" your images. I believe that once you open it in greenfoot, you can go to the scenario folder and grab a copy of the executable jar file. I put it there for quick access. You can move it to your program files (or wherever).
Use .png files instread of .jpg files. These support transparent backgrounds. For example this one. To create these, you can use Paint3D (on Windows) and set "transparent background" to true. GreenfootImage supports transparent anyways, so you can also draw on them and leave areas transparent.
Even if u can get pirated version of photoshop cc(the best pictures editing app) or buy the official one without any virus
