Intelligent Greeps(Sort Of)

Hello, I am new and this is my first scenario on the Greenfoot Gallery!

This is a version of the greeps senario. In this one, the Greeps move away when they come into contact with water, rather than just stopping at the shoreline. However, it is extremely buggy. The problem lies in the fact that I am trying to detect water when the Greep has not gotten there yet. This causes the Greeps to go out-of-bounds which causes the game to stall. Any help for me to make this capability bug-free is welcomed.

The source code has been included.

I reduced the speed, it was accidentally too high.
