The problem is that the actor is moving more than one cell each act cycle and he moves all together without checking in between if he reached the platform. To make it move step by step and check between every step, you could change the falling method to this:

I guess you mean you want the text shown to disappear after a few seconds. Did you try reading the documentation? :) So: after a few seconds, call showText again with the same co-ordinates but null for the text (or the empty string as s

So for the problem with 'import', I found that my mistake was that I rewrote 'import greenfoot', which was originally at the top of my code. I put the content in the code I showed you and I placed it under the original 'import greenfoot' and the code worked. Thanks again for your help.

Sorry I couldn't reply in a timely manor, but thanks for the input guys, I managed to get things working the way I wanted them too.

Create an int field which you can use as a timer: <Code Omitted>Whenever you shoot, set the timer to some value (3 seconds is about 170 I guess). <Code Omitted>Each act cycle, you reduce the value by 1 if it isn't 0: <Code Omitted>Before shooting, check if the shotTimer is 0, you can also use it right after the last line, so: <Code Omitted>

You have an error in your 'TrackButtons' constructor. I guess you changed the parameter names but forgot to change the next lines accordingly: <Code Omitted>

Thanks a lot, I'm quite new to Greenfoot

You just need a field to retain which direction the player was last moving to determine which image to use when still. You would still need a way to determine if the actor is still or not. One way to side-step this issue is by setting the still image before checking the 'a' and 'd' keys. There is another thing that could be annoying -- like how when holding both the 'a' and 'd' keys down simultaneously, the player will always be animating right without actually moving. To avoid that, you can check the state of both keys before moving either way. I usually do this by setting a new directio

Hi, I'm Bethany and I'm taking this for a class at Cabrillo.

Oh thanks.

Did you change anything in the 'hitEnemy' method?

You see the image in my thing? That's the IDE. An unedited screenshot. Greenfoot IDE jumping about as I move my cursor across it, rendering an unusable mess. <Video Omitted> I believe the issue is to do with how the RX480's drivers interfaces with the JDK itself. I've had this fault with the Minecraft launcher along with Greenfoot, but those are the only Java based softwares that I utilise enough to notice. They have only occured since I switched from my GTX 760. From what I understand, this issue i
