I know you can do that with FL Studio (Fruity Loops), and Reason and programs like that, but those are some pretty costly programs. I'm sure there are some free open source projects that can do that, probably even some websites that can do that for you. Just google it man =)

ahh thats a bummer man =( yeah I know that it is possible with big music programming applications but those are definitely gonna cost you

You should look into winamp with a midi plugin. This is just one example article (can't guarantee its validity now) : Winamp + midi conversion I've used several winamp plugin's in the past to achieve odd file type conversions (i.e. old amiga mod files to wav). Good luck.

Fl Studio has a Demo that gives you 100% functionality, but just lacks the ability to save projects. Even in the demo it has more than enough functionality to convert midi's into any type of audio file you would want :)

Of course, you could just play the midi file and use audacity to record it - alternatively you could use Greenfoot to play the MIDI file directly (see the support classes). Technically "convert" isn't really the right word when talking about MIDI -> wav/mp3, "render" is probably closer to the truth (since MIDI files don't actually contain sounds!)
