So am I correct in assuming that the Download Source Code and Open in Greenfoot features have been combined into simply open in Greenfoot, which does look to download the source code as well?

Yes, that's correct. We thought, what do you do after you download the source? Well, there's not much else to do than open it in Greenfoot, so the "Download source" and "Open in Greenfoot" buttons seemed somewhat redundant.
As you correctly say, the one button now does both.

Yes, it will follow soon. We are still in testing (and still finding small issues). It could be another week.
