Have installed Oracle JDK 8 and installed the GF .deb file from the GF site. libopenjfx is installed. When I attempt to start GF, the banner displays, then the GF window opens, but it is blank, and then closes after 1-2 seconds. No error message.

Hi Mark, please send an email with a description of the problem (or link to this discussion) to support@greenfoot.org with the contents of the Greenfoot log file (should be at ~/.greenfoot/greenfoot-debuglog.txt, where ~ is your home directory). I suggest that you try running Greenfoot from the terminal application (just type "greenfoot" and enter) and see if there is any additional output there. It may be that the Java VM is crashing. Note that if you have the Oracle JDK you shouldn't need libopenjfx (and it appears Ubuntu 18.10 has an unusable version of libopenjfx anyway - it doesn't work with Java 8 JDKs).

I should point out that I originally had OpenJDK 11 installed. After recalling that GF likes JDK 8, I used Synaptec Package Manager to uninstall OpenJDK, and installed Oracle JDK 8. Wondering if there could be some lingering affects of OpenJDK laying around? Will send the log asap.
