I hate those red shooters! (Actually I think they're a really nice touch, but I always forget about them and get killed as a result!)
How about using a mouse click to release the ball as well as space by the way? That way you can control the entire movement with the mouse as well as the keyboard :)

The first time your enter 'Editor Mode' you'll get this error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/swing/GroupLayout$Group
at Board.initEdit(Board.java:143)
at Selection.mouseEvent(Selection.java:72)
at Selection.act(Selection.java:56)
at greenfoot.core.Simulation.runOneLoop(Simulation.java:288)
at greenfoot.core.Simulation.run(Simulation.java:158)
but after that you can just click 'run' and then continue the game!
It works fine for me!
The updates seem great, really well done. The one thing I would say is that swing isn't the best thing to use with Greenfoot, it's far nicer if everything's just there in the same applet window (it looks better and avoids confusion.)
I love the star animation too!
