Level Devil is a 2D platformer programmed in Greenfoot as a challenge to test the patience, reflexes, and
precision of the players. Based on the classic "rage games" like Getting Over It and Jump King, Level
Devil mocks the aggravation that comes in the experience of hardcore platforming, in which the misjump
can be the cause of the character's death—a success or failure—of the level. Players control a small
character through thin and disappearing platforms, hidden traps, and deceptive layouts. Even under the
simple controls, the levels themselves are intentionally confusing and inconsistent.
The game appeals to youth and younger adults (13–25) who enjoy very challenging, fast-paced, puzzle
platformer style games. It appeals to players who enjoy challenging their timing, patience, and willpower,
or who simply have a taste for the pain of self-rewarded challenging play.
