Not sure I understand -- using the menu to reset the game or switch game works fine at home, but the uploaded scenario seems to want to 'stop' when these are used in 'Greenfoot'.
A new version of this scenario was uploaded on Thu Sep 15 03:35:55 UTC 2011 Re-applying last version to see if it works properly in Greenfoot.

On the menu, if you click 'show board notation' more than once, rather than toggling it on and off, it keeps applying it. Other than that, very nice :) Reminds me that I need to fix my draughts game (which looks quite similar) because I got the rules of draughts wrong when I made it (having not played the game in ages)

You are right, it would be a simple matter of changing the paint order, so the menu object is under to notations object. But you really do not want to be able to call the menu at all when the notations object is up. Therefore, I probably should have used 'rightClick' to initiate the menu object (that would avoid the calling of the menu object when the notations object is up). Unfortunately, the laptop I created it on crashed, and I do not have the files to correct anything. There are a few other gliches that I have come across, also.

if you want the source back just decompile this www.greenfoot.org/applet_attachments/0000/9544/greenfoot1822994819051924242.jar

How can I use 'greenfoot1822994819051924242.jar' to "decompile" something that's on my computer? Another question is how can I use it to "decompile" a sceneario as JetLennit suggested? He suggested to danpost to use it to get his source back from a scenario that only exists on the website, so how can it be used to decompile an uploaded scenario.

I would like to try this, but I use google chrome, and I don't really want to go through the process of going to another web browser, editing my java control panel to allow greenfoot and then using the scenario, so it would be helpful to put out the source code.

2017/4/10

@ET78759 I disagree with you. To open a project in Greenfoot you have to download it and then open it, and now you have a new folder and file on your hard drive. These don't have to be in the Downloads folder but that's adding another step of removing it. If you would just edit your Java Control Panel Item once, then every time you want to run a scenario just make sure you're using Internet Explorer. P.S. UserInfo still won't work so you'll also have to do the things at: http://www.greenfoot.org/topics/8200/
danpostdanpost

2017/4/10

@ET78759, I no longer have the source as it was on a laptop that went kaput. Also, I am having trouble having this one run on the site right now. @ALL, can anyone get this to run at all?
ET78759ET78759

2017/4/10

what I mean is that I'm lazy... And don't know how to access the java control panel
ET78759ET78759

2017/4/10

I dunno, I haven't figured out how to open the java control panel to access the scenario.
Nosson1459Nosson1459

2017/4/10

@danpost I get a ClassNotFoundException greenfoot.export.GreenfootScenarioViewer.class, but I get that on a lot of scenarios that other users seem to not. @ET78759 Read the link that's right under the words "Your browser is ignoring the <APPLET> tag.".

See this: https://www.greenfoot.org/topics/57179?offset=0 it might help.

2017/4/10

@Nosson1459, I am not get that error message. I get words in the top left corner of window saying "Error, Click for details". Last time however, I got 'NullPointerException' even though I did not change the code. BTW, this scenario does not use the UserInfo class.

2017/4/10

@Nosson1459 Thanks for letting me know how to access greenfoot on the browser. @danpost + Nosson1459 It works perfectly for me.
Nosson1459Nosson1459

2017/4/10

@danpost I also get words which say that, so I click and then a window pops up saying the error.
Nosson1459Nosson1459

2017/4/10

So nobody knows what JetLennit was talking about?
danpostdanpost

2017/4/10

@Nosson1459, this: www.greenfoot.org/applet_attachments/0000/9544/greenfoot1822994819051924242.jar is the path name of the ChessWorld scenario jar file here on the site. He was saying that you could use a decompiler (of which no particular one was mentioned) to recreate the source of the project.
Nosson1459Nosson1459

2017/4/10

So why don't you, there are programs that decompile .jar files.

Nosson1459Nosson1459

2017/4/10

It Works! Does this mean the you did decompile the .jar file, because I would like to know what you used to do it.
danpostdanpost

2017/4/10

@Nosson1459, I took a chance and opened the jar file in greenfoot (even though the '.CLASS' files, or source codes, were missing) and re-uploaded it.
Nosson1459Nosson1459

2017/4/10

How do you "open(ed) the jar file in greenfoot"?
danpostdanpost

2017/4/10

@Nosson1459, I copied the fore-mentioned jar file into my scenarios folder; opened the greenfoot application and proceeded to load the file.
Nosson1459Nosson1459

2017/4/10

I managed it (Open with >).

I got a notification of yours before it showed up on the Activities page -- strange!

Maybe whatever it is that displays new notifications runs before the one for the Activity page.
