There are no prizes this is just for fun!

Yay, October Challenge! Boring Stuff: The challenge starts now and will end November 1st! No exceptions! Rules -Do not copy anyone else's scenarios -You are allowed to use the discussion area to get help for your code -You are allowed to use code from demo scenarios, but you have to change it and make it unique to your scenario -You can work in a group but the (user)names of the members of the group have to be included in the description -You must include the source code -You must use the Challenge ID as a tag for you scenario -You can enter more than one challenge but only one of your challenges can win (If you get most votes in two challenges, you must choose the one you want to win, and the game in second place will win for the other challenge) -You are not allowed to ask people to vote for your scenario The Fun and Important Stuff: Beginner (C7O13B) Create a game involving the mouse affecting an important part of the game. An example includes using the mouse to kill enemies. Intermediate (C7O13I) Create a classic puzzle game. It can be anything ranging from jigsaw puzzles to Sudoku puzzles to even a rubik's cube! Expert (C7O13E) Create a 2-player co-op or competitive shooting game. There must be different guns/shooters with different effects/qualities/damages. Have multiple difficulties and/or levels. Make a realistic AI in case 1 player is only playing. You have a lot of freedom with this challenge, as long as you shoot something with or against someone. Mental! (C7O13M) Create a Choose-Your-Adventure-style game, with multiple storylines, spouting from the player's decisions. (minimum of 3 different storylines). Make it interesting! It should not be all text-based, unless making a really long, interesting game, or you have cool images relating with the text. Involve a saving system that keeps track of where the player last was, or to "rewind" to a specific point. Now go out there and make some great games! (And by the way, my birthday is on the 9th, if you incorporate me or a birthday theme somewhere in your game, you will have an extra vote on each challenge). Have Fun!

About the mental, good we do it where there is some action in between decisions? (i.e. they have to fight a badguy in order to have one set of choices, and if they fail they will be thrown into a dungeon)

My scenario I'm working on could be qualified for the Expert challenge! It might be a good way into october before it's finished though...
@MatheMagician, yes, you can. In fact, this was exactly what I was picturing, sorta like Telltale's The Walking Dead @Entity1037 I look forward to what you submit. You haven't already submitted it to the site, have you?

Would you consider this a classic puzzle game? I would...
Not necessarily the kind of puzzle I was thinking of, but yes, it's used enough and known well enough that I will allow that for the challenge.

@FlyingRabidUnicornPig Well I based it off of my "Megaman EX (Alpha 2)" scenario, and it is called "Megaman EX (Alpha 3)", however I have re-written virtually the entire code, and the only images carried over are the health images, background, awesomeface.gif, the single boss door image (I have yet to create all of them), and the default block/spike images. Seriously though, those images are so simple a two year old could create them! Also, this new scenario isn't published yet. Does that count?? P.S.: Would it count if the person you're fighting against is the boss? If not, then I could just whip up Zero as a co-helper via Megaman X8 style, OR I could go the co-op simultaneous route (I haven't decided yet). P.S.S.: I have the same Matter class from my Collision Physics scenario, but I actually wrote the class first in my MM EX Alpha3 scenario and then copy/pasted it into the Collision Physics scenario as I made improvements.
1) Yes it counts. As long as it isn't the same game (which it sounds like it isn't). However, even though you haven't uploaded it, it is recommended you start with a completely new project. You don't have to start with a new project though. 2) You need to have an option for another player to join, and have an AI coded for that player if there isn't one, it can be optional to have the second player, just make it available, and make sure you code an AI. So no, It cannot be the boss. 3) That's fine to use support classes that others or you have made, as long as it is not the only thing being used in the scenario.

This is getting to the bottom of the list so I'm just going to leave a bump here and say that I have submitted my cookie clicker as a game involving the mouse as an important part.

You posted it before the first of October...... so you cant enter it
Sorry joeschome. Gotta make/first posted the game after the first of October. It's not fair to others because you may have made a really good game, and improved it, since you've had over a month to work on it. You'll have to make a new game.
